Red, White, and Boats

We may have missed the Macy's fireworks, but this Fourth of July I experienced some of the most beautiful views New York has to offer.

Our friends picked us up from an Uptown location in Harlem, and traveled from the city out to the Long Island Harbor.  Towering bridges, sparkling buildings, and baby blue waters are just a few of the sights that we passed along the ride.  A bottle of wine and portable (non-spillable) cups kept us occupied as we made our way to a Long Island lunch spot.

In the heat of the afternoon, we finished our ride at Louie's Marina.  We enjoyed some fun drinks and delicious seafood, just in time to escape the heat.  As if the ride to Louie's was not beautiful enough, we sped through skies painted with sunset oranges and pinks on the way back to NYC.  Little pops of mini firework shows followed us into the docks.  I couldn't think of a more perfect Fourth of July.

I opted for a dress that embraces more of the white in the American flag palette.  This tie-front button-down number was light, flowey, and perfect for a boating trip.  Plus, it's on sale at Zara right now!  Check it out, I'm in love.

Happy Shopping!
