Simple Backyard Basics

I don't always trust cheap, online shopping but these ripped jeans were worth the risk.  I love a good high-waisted pant, because its pretty hard to find a full length shirt now-a-days.  With the warm weather coming in, the heavy ripped detail will keep me cooler, plus I love the distressed feel.

I'm living in a college town right now, which has a bit of grungy charm.  The houses, like the one behind me, are very old and I love walking down the street and seeing all the different pastel colors and aged stone.

If someone ever tells you not to mix black and brown, take it with a grain of salt.  There are certain shades that pair really well, like this liquid lipstick from NYX.  I have been a little nervous to try one of these deep brown shades that everyone seems to be loving, but this one is perfect. This is a very true brown, and falls perfectly between a light and dark shade.

If you are wondering how to spice up some of the basic pieces in your closet, invest in some solid colored turtle necks.  This cropped one is from Zara and I wear it all the time with high-waisted jeans and skirts.  It is a little more exciting than a black v-neck and adds some more edge, but still pairs with almost any outfit.  Of course, I am wearing my high-top Converse again.  They are one of the most worn items in my closet.

Happy Shopping!
